On Tuesay (dec 26) Jake went in for his weekly treatment. He got another dose of the mild chemo. He is still doing awesome. The doctors say they can't feel the tumor so it must be shrinking. His blood pressure was low again so they lowered his high blood meds again. They also said he was the healthiest one they'd seen. There were a lot of sick kids there. Most have the normal stuff that kids get. The difference is their bodies' immune system can't fight it. So they have to either be admitted or delay their treatment. That's why when a family has somebody with cancer they become germaphobes. We have hand sanitizer by every door and sink. Our poor kids' hands are raw because of the constant washing. We don't mind if adults stop by to visit, if they aren't sick, but we don't allow kids anymore. We live in our own little bubble. Our kids have been so understanding and have adjusted to the bubble life very well. Becasue of this we are having Thanksgiving with just our family this year. It will be a first for us, hopefully we don't mess it up. He is scheduled for his CT scan on monday and surgery friday if the scan results are good. We are praying that he stays healthy so we can get through the surgery without delay. In talking to and hearing stories of other families with kids with cancer, we realize how blessed we are that he is doing so well. We know it it because of all the prayers and support from our family and friends and of course the blessings from our Father in Heaven and His son Jesus Christ. I've been reading in the New Testament. It is comforting to read the stories of people being healed by the Savior. Sometimes it's hard to accept that Jake has cancer but I believe that trials come to draw us closer to our Savior. It is obvious that miracles follow faith so we must put our faith in Him and know that things will work out. Happy Thanksgiving!
