| Week 5 of his journey |
Week 5 is in the books. Jake had his consultation with the radiation doctor on wednesday. Dr. Hunter was very reassuring and answered all our questions about radiation. He will be recieving such a low dose that he should have very minor short term affects and a very low chance of any long term affects. He is planning on 6 days of treatment after the surgery. Thursday he went to his normal weekly visit with Oncoloy to get a dose of chemo and then on to a visit with the kidney specialist at the U of U hosptial. His blood pressure was actually low so they lowered the dose on one of his medications. Hopefully in a few weeks, after the surgery, he won't need it at all. He is doing awesome. His blood counts were good and they say his tumor is definately shrinking. He is still holding on to his hair too. They keep saying it will fall out but it hasn't yet. He still watches Cars 2 a few times a day with an occasional viewing of Monsters Inc. or Jungle Book. He just keeps enjoying life as much as he can. We are still amazed at the outpouring of love and support we continualy get from our friends and family. It would be impossible to take this on alone.
