Update

Jake was scheduled for surgery this morning at 8:00 am, however, they have moved that back to 11:00 am. The surgery team will go in and take a biopsy of the tumor to determine what kind of cancer they are dealing with.

The surgeon has explained to Jen and Wayland that they then want to start chemo and possibly radiation to shrink the tumor enough so it can be safely removed during a later surgery.

Because the tumor is in the kidney, which is soft tissue, and because it is so large; they run the risk of accidentally puncturing it, causing it to rupture sending cancer all through Jake's body.  It was decided that shrinking it down would be a lot safer for it to be removed.
